Please visit these folks who generously give of their time to show us other ways to enjoy our hobby.

In keeping with our core mission to educate and inspire, we are pleased to bring you again the fascinating opportunity to see GMSS members and friends practicing their art as they work with the materials our planet provides. Each has their own booth area on the main floor and will be holding demonstrations and displaying their art throughout the weekend.

Sandy Cline

From our northern neighbor, Canada, Sandy is a worldwide collected soapstone carver. He draws his inspiration from his lifelong experience of closeness to nature and imbues his subjects with the life force he observes.

Dana Klein - Genesee County Flint Knapper

Dana is a flintknapper and maker of stone tools. Transport yourself to one of the earliest times of man in his quest for self-sufficiency.

Jim Redden

Jim will be “playing with fire” and demonstrating glass bead making for Sheldon Studios. It is fascinating to watch the process of transformation and hints at the metamorphic process of basic elements in the earth’s crust.

John Sweeney

John is a professional lapidary and a teacher of lapidary skills including cutting and polishing. He will be demonstrating this art on the very technical equipment specific to the trade.

Tom Huff

Tom is a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy. He will be carving Native American figurines from soapstone and other thpes of rocks.
